I once had to explain my kids they could no longer play outside by themselves outside because the police might come and separate us.
I think that was horrible enough for them not to trust them too much.

But I believe the construction of that ethnic group is also important in the definition.
Because it also changes constantly, it always tries to shrink, to create mkre outsiders.
This is why Ireland is not an ethnoestate.
Anyone that gets citizenship becomes Irish.

So what I think differentiates an ethnoestate is rather the construction of a particular group as a privileged class. And as ethnicity is socially constructed, creating a racially diverse one based on religion makes perfect sense.

What I meant to say is that in "French" could very well cover flemish, catalan, breton, frank, suize-like, etc. The idea of giant-unified ethnicities is a modern myth.

This ignores that "ethnicity" is an extremely fluid notion that fascists insist on tiying down to easily identifiable markers.

For example, you might think of "French" as an ethnic group, but that coulnd be further from the truth. You get very distinct people from the south to the north. Same in Italy, Germany, or any country big enough.

I don't think it is correct. That has been at best a recent historical rewriting after the idea of nation states, but ethnic groups were usually divided into much smaller groups that were occupied particular small territories.

Not in Europe. Most european countries are very ethnically diverse. Not in the Americas. Certainly not Africa. China? No India? No. Not even Japan is ethnically homogeneous.

Sorry, 500 thousand cars.

Oh wow! Only 500 million cars to offset the polution from ALL inhalers? That's like, what, 0.5% or less car reduction all over the world?
And we get to have less cars?
This is like a win-win.

Creep glasses might have some drawbacks. Who knew.

Fucking hell on earth. Palestine, Sudan, and so many others...Wtf are we doing? Spineless cowards, all of us.

The complicated part about it os that gou actually get unbapthized by second time, so they have to keep count of how many splashes they have done.
Also, afterwards they have to redo all the sacraments, so it's kind of a hassle.
This is why it happens at most once a year.

I agree. That is why ot's a discervice to talk about the issue from Oct 7th and blaming Hamas, without addressing the decades of injustice, violence, and humiliations that are at the root of it.

Whenever someone says sonething like "Britain for the british", you are 100% in front of a fascist.

07.10.2025 09:27 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

No you didn't. Some nationalist irish nutjob did. Irish people don't go around saying "Ireland for the irish".
Maybe when they are talking about the english colonizers that carved up their island and brutalized their people.

07.10.2025 09:23 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

That doesn't make it an ethnoestate.

The EU is a political/economic agreement. Even if they can live in Ireland they don't become irish. And I believe Irish descendants in the US don't get a fast pass to irish citizenship.

So the jewish families that have been living in Chile over 300 years are rootless? They have a right to Palestinian land?

Like what laws? Am i wrong to think that you must live in Ireland for a certain period before you can apply to citizenship?
Or you mean to say like the EU? Which is another discussion?

Apparently you mean to say that I should have compasion.
And though I can't get away from feeling empathy, I can certainly choose how and when to express compasion.

No, jewish persecution is a staple of European culture. The spanish famously did a jewish genocide after they conquered the peninsula. Christianity has been very anti-jewish from very early on.

I have empathy. That I'm able to understand where she's comming from doesn't mean I have to agree with her or that I can't criticize what she says.

07.10.2025 08:58 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

No. Are there any laws that give preference to some group for immigration purposes? Can you convert to catholicism to get Irish citizenship? Is there a discrimination towards other groups?
European states are not ethnostates, not matter what the racists say.

07.10.2025 08:56 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

But the truth is revealed. The oldest zionists talking point: "Everywhere has been colonized by some group" and "Ethnostates are not uncommon".
Obtuse, ahistorical arguments.

07.10.2025 08:52 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

No, not many groups have ethnoestates or religious states. What they have are dictatorships enforcing some sort of ethnoestate.

"All lands are previously populated". Get real man.
Lets do a timeline. Jews were persecuted and killed by europeans. Instead of granting them rights and reparations, europe "gave" then a peace of land in muslim territory.
This of course caused a backlash against the many innocent arab jews.

07.10.2025 08:49 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

So, then answer is to give them a previously populated land? Mind you, a lot of jewish people are self determined people in many different countries.
What you are saying is that they deserve an ethno/religious state, which no one does.
