Some weeks ago part of the Decidim team joined the United Nations #OpenSourceWeek at UN Headquarters in NYC.

Call for Proposals - Page 1 of 1 - Metadecidim Decidim Fest is back on 4,5 and 6 November 2025, under the theme Building Technology as a Public Good, in a very special edition. This year we collaborate with the MozFest, held in Barcelona from 7-9 November 2025, to organize the Barcelona Open Tech Week, an event that puts the city as the center of technology for the common good at the crossroads of democracy, technology, and digital rights. In a world where Big Tech monopolies shape our digital lives and authoritarianism gains ground, the question of who owns, designs, and controls technology has never been more urgent. What are the technopolitical principles that ensure that a technology is open and equitable; what public policies should be promoted to ensure the sustainability of the Digital Commons; how do we “reconfigure” digital infrastructures to serve social transformation rather than corporate interests? This year’s Decidim FEST 2025 aims to collectively imagine and build digital infrastructures that are open, democratic, and rooted in the public good. We want to ground these debates by bringing together our wonderful global community and a wide range of leading voices from the public institutions, entities and organizations from the field. 

This year we're seeking workshops and lightning talks that explore the technology as a public good and the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructures.

Selected proposals will be featured at the festival and are eligible for community-driven sessions. 💡

Dissenys orientats a la democratització de la lectura i la música, la reducció de la dependència tecnològica i la superació de la desnutrició infantil s’hi sumen a la sala d’operacions del Cybersyn, un projecte pioner de la cibernètica. Un recorregut sobre com des de l’Amèrica Llatina es va implementar, en plena Guerra Freda, una alternativa de canvi i justícia social a través del disseny.Presenta: Antònia Folguera
