Many Americans hold contradictory opinions on the same policies
Our new poll finds question wording can swing opinion by 20+ points on immigration, the budget, and transgender rights. That's a problem for people who use polls to tell politicians what voters want.

Bowen: A dangerous moment, but US and Israel see opportunity not to be missed
Israel and the US believe Iran's regime is vulnerable, dealing with an economic crisis and the aftermath of protests.
BBC International Ed Jeremy Bowen: : βEven if this becomes the first case of air power alone collapsing a regime, the Islamic regime will not be replaced by a liberal democracy that upholds human rights. There is no credible alternative government in exile waiting in the wings.β #Iran

He's obviously right. The Tory position on this is nuts. Why on earth would you want to tie yourself to a President who is clearly not capable of rational decision making and has no idea what he's doing?
It's already not a popular conflict + it's only going to get less popular if it drags on.

Green win exposes myth of ethnic βbloc votingβ
Reform campaign was too narrow: in a constituency where six out of ten voters were white, they focused on one-third of the constituency, in white working-class areas
There may be some logic in Reform wanting to disenfranchise the voters who they want to deport in large numbers. But Reform cannot execute their βdeport and disenfranchiseβ policy before a general election in which their targets have a voice and a vote too.

If I was @zackpolanski.bsky.social, I would be pointing out to the BBC that whatever model they use to justify giving Farage & his boot-lickers season tickets for every BBC show under the sun must surely now treat Green Party politicians in exactly the same way. Might even be one for the lawyers...

A reminder: Matt Goodwin lost heavily in spite of an almost total lack of tactical voting, not because of it.
The combined Green/Labour vote was 66%, versus 28.7% for Reform.
If Labour and the Greens split the vote 50/50 β a total coordination fail β he'd have finished third, not second.
