I think Dorsey cultivated this to be supposedly more relateable than let's say Zuckerberg or Musk. Part of the act.

Sometimes companies have to make tough choices and layoffs happen, I get it. But when you do this in context with all of the previous gaffes you're just a shark. Plenty of founders strike the right balance and can run profitable businesses that provide public good. Dorsey hasn't.

Timeline:

1) Dorsey has two good ideas: Point of sale e-commerce and Twitter.
2) Takes advantage of Silicon Valley talent pool to build these businesses up. Accolades roll in.
3) Takes both public and enriches himself and other C suite execs
4) Continues to issue stock and destroy company value
