I like watching movies and t.v. and having opinions about them.

The acting, script, special effects and alien costume were pretty terrible. There was also a wierd subplot with a biker dude for reasons unknown. The slow pacing and odd plot let this down.

And for a nightbeast, it sure is out in the day a lot.

Watched Nightbeast. 80s sci-fi horror.

A creature from outer space crash lands and starts killing humans.

80s horror, there is nothing like it. The tagline for this is 'if you have the guts... it wants them!'. Sadly, the tagline is better than the movie...cont.

I did like the couple of twists at the end but overall it was a bit ordinary.

This group of early 20s are specifically told not to look like they know each other but party all over Vegas together. So dumb.

It was interesting to see Laurence Fishburne's character talking about losing his job to computer software...cont.

Watched 21. Drama.

Prospective med student cheats at black jack in Vegas to pay for tuition.

The dude learns very quickly that the old adage about hard work paying off is bull. Plenty of people work hard and stay poor...cont.

All of the acting was brilliant, script was fantastic and some great cinematography. If you like queer cinema and being depressed, add this to your list.

There was no music for atmosphere and this made the devastation hit harder. It struck me just how quiet the film was when the music from the credits started. The sound of my crying was louder than anything else...cont.

There was surface level acceptance for their partnership from the biological family. Pat dies and her family basically cut Angie out of all decisions and take all the finances. Watching Angie be told to stand at the back at the funeral because she wasn't family was heart breaking...cont.

Watched All Shall Be Well. Cantonese drama.

Older queer woman in Hong Kong deals with the death of her long term partner.

Do not be fooled by this title. All is absolutely not well. This was very heavy for a midweek movie. I don't know how I'm going to get up tomorrow with the sadness...cont.

Is there going to be a 2nd movie? Cos I'd really like to know more about Nana's revolutionary past.

I really loved a Latino superhero, we are over prescribed with white superheroes.

Side note: It would totally suck to lose all of your clothes everytime you turned into a superhero.

Watching a militarised police force terrorise a Mexican family was a tough watch...cont.

Watched Blue Beetle. Superhero movie.

College graduate from a struggling Mexican family accidentally becomes a super hero.

Omg, I love this family, especially Uncle Rudy - hilarious. The family had such a great vibe and family dynamic...cont.

Two characteristics Michael Douglas plays well is smarmy and paranoid - both are in this character.

Worst birthday gift ever.

Watched The Game (1997). Thriller.

Smarmy rich dude gets an odd birthday present from his brother.

Creepy clown doll that appears out of nowhere, broken elevators, losing a shoe in a dirty street, an overflowing hotel toilet, waking up in a coffin in a cemetery in Mexico - an all round bad day...

I loved the rant about the pagan origin of Christmas iconography. The best part of the whole movie.

It was way more graphic than the original. So many eyeball things, ew.

I actually liked this better than the original and I had expected to hate it.

Watched Black Christmas (2006). Christmas horror.

Same sororiety house, same killer.

Sort of a remake, sort of a sequel? It was quite different to the original so it felt like a bit of a tribute...cont.

It highlighted some awful domestic violence with the boyfriend, Peter, being a total controlling nutjob.

And it looked really hard to trace a phone call in 1974.

Olivia Hussey and Margot Kidder were good but I liked the alcoholic house mother played by Marian Waldman.

I feel like this was the inspiration for the Scream series, with the phone calls and the 'call is coming from inside the house'...cont.

Watched Black Christmas (1974). 70s Christmas slasher horror.

Sororiety house is stalked by a psycho killer at Christmas.

Super slow burn with an open ended ending where the killer is not revealed. I did yell at the tv when it ended without closure...cont.

He also asks for forgiveness for destroying her business but never actually says sorry.

What was wrong with us in the 90s that we thought this was romantic.

Tom Hanks' character was a total a-hole and what Meg Ryan's character should have done was give him the finger and told him to shove off.

He strings her along for ages without telling her he knows her identity. She even talks to him about her mystery romance. It's kind of stalkery...cont.

Rewatched You've Got Mail. Rom-com.

Two people have an online affair without knowing they hate each other in real life.

Ahh, the nostalgic sound of dial up internet. Although that connected way too quick...cont.

How did they get to the moon so quickly? Why do they keep mentioning Elon, that's off-putting.

The script was pretty awful. I didn't bother to pause it for a toilet break. And the CGI was also not great...cont.

Watched Moonfall. Sci-fi.

The moon is knocked out of orbit and threatens Earth's existence.

I had several questions while watching this - why is Colorado the place that everyone can be safe in if the world is being destroyed? Why is everyone just freely disclosing secret information?...cont.

Add some mental illness and abandonment issues, it was never going to have a good outcome.

It did feel very much like a HBO made for tv movie. It also felt a little rushed at times. But Angelina Jolie is very watchable. A teeny-weeny Mila Kunis was an added bonus.

Watched Gia. Biopic.

The story of Gia Carangi, famous model in the early 80s.

A very sad story and not really an isolated one. She was one of the first famous women to die during the 80s AIDS epidemic. She seems like she was young and vulnerable and used up by a predatory fashion industry...cont.

The opening road trip conversations did feel very natural, so props to the actors for that. It just went on too long.

It was also very similar to Blair Witch, with some scenes feeling like a direct copy. But this one had less horror elements.

What's with the young woman in the desert trope. It feels like it's all the same movie at this point...cont.

And the addition of the confederate general ghost that the detective kept talking to was confusing.

I did like the narration. Jones has a great voice, I could listen to him read any book.
