I loved Margot Robbie in this and Sebastian Stan's moustache and turtle neck sweater was mesmerising. But Allison Janney, absolutely outstanding.

I like watching movies and t.v. and having opinions about them.

Obviously what they did to Nancy Kerrigan was completely unacceptable however this is a good representation of the pressure of individual competative sport and the effects of domestic violence, poverty and lack of education...cont.
12.11.2025 07:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Rewatched I, Tonya. Biopic.
The story of Tonya Harding, disgraced figure skater.
I have a bit of a soft spot for mockumentary style movies. I don't know how much of tye story is actually true but a lot of the more insane things people said came straight from actual interviews they did...cont.
The Russian space suit was appallingly. The costume department dropped the ball with that. It was local theatre making their own costumes quality.
The main issue with this was it took itself too seriously for a Russian mutant space booby shark movie.

The production values were somewhat ok but also quite shit. One minute it's ok and the next scene I wondered who ok-ed this.
The half CGI half costume sharks were so odd, some of the sharks had boobs. The astronaut moonwalk was more like a moon stroll...cont.
Watched Shark Side of the Moon. Sci-fi.
Russians create mutant shark people and send them to the moon where they hunt American astronauts.
Yes, you read that right. When one of the characters said 'why are there sharks on the moon' I said what a great question...cont.
There was nothing particularly wrong with this but I wasn't terribly engaged. The characters were cute enough and the story was ok. It was just missing something.

Watched The Sloth Lane. Kid's animation.
A family of sloths run a food truck in a new city and compete with an unscrupulous fast food restaurant.
This was done in stop animation style without being stop animation, which I find a bit unusual to watch...cont.
The evolution of Cosmo's hair and the band's clothing was a trip through 80s New Romantics, delightful.
I'm a sucker for a great soundtrack and this was a fantastic one. Also, describing The Cure as 'happy sad' was perfect.

Watched Sing Street. Irish musical rom-com.
Dublin teen in the 80s starts a band to impress a girl.
That was a lot of acid wash denim. This was charming but also peppered with hard to watch scenes with domestic violence and a priest half drowning the teen boy to scrub his make-up off...cont.
The basket boy thing was weird. Juli was way too good for Bryce. Bryce's dad was a jerk, there was a hint at a deeper story but it wasn't explored. Bryce's granddad was lovely.
It was great seeing Rebecca De Mornay. She looked exactly as she did in the 90s.

Watched Flipped. Rom-com.
Boy is a jerk to the girl next door and then falls in love with her.
This was delightful. It was told from the perspective of both main characters; Bryce and Juli. Gave me Wonder Years vibes...cont.
I'm really liking Emma Myers, I'll probably seek out stuff if she is in it. Jason Momoa played a great loser and as always, I love Jennifer Coolidge. Jack Black is as extra as always and is the only choice for that character. Never getting lava chicken out of my head.

Watched A Minecraft Movie. Kid's movie.
Based on the Minecraft game.
I haven't played Minecraft and I know little about it except you build stuff with cubes. It was visually pleasing and had a great soundtrack but a lot of the jokes were lost on me...cont.
Airplane viewing definitely not the best format. My daughter theorised the bird actually died which is a possibility.
Also love how capybaras can bring everyone together.
It did get a bit long and the animation was fairly simple, but I'm told it was impressive to be made with the program it was made on.
With no dialogue, I didn't really get what happened to the bird though.

Watched Flow. Animation.
A cat collects friends in a rapidly flooding world.
This was cute. All the animals had a lot of character, despite no dialogue in the film...cont.
This was a solid movie. The fashion was amazing, especially when they pulled out the fashion punk stuff. I kind of hope there is a second movie that shows why she wants to unalive puppies.
Also, great soundtrack.

Watched Cruella. Family movie.
The origin story of Cruella De Vil.
I watched this on a plane so not the best format to watch it in. Emma Stone's accent was a little grating at first but I forgot about it after a while. I also loved that red shag haircut on her...cont.
Her one liners were delivered like noone else could do. She was so good in this, it's hard to remember what else happened.
The rest of the story was ok. Very indie drama. Amazing soundtrack.

Watched Jump, Darling. Drama.
Rookie drag queen trying to get over a break up visits his grandmother, who doesn't want to go into a nursing home and is in cognitive decline.
The great Cloris Leachman's final film. Even at 93, she had such great screen presence...cont.
Winona Ryder scribbling in her diary like a serial killer, the shoulder pads, the disinterested parents and of course, Christian Slater riding around on that motorcycle. I was well into Christian Slater when I was in highschool. How very.

Rewatched Heathers. Dark comedy.
Teen girl is sick of the popular kids so teams up with the school sociopath to deal with them.
One of my all time favourite movies. Beautifully dark.
Shannen Doherty is in her element and this is peak Winona Ryder...cont.
This whole series has been quite depressing. This one upset me most of all as you could see her light diminish the longer she was with him.

The hardest thing to watch was the full footage of the traffic stop. She was so distressed. The dead beat boyfriend looked positively gleeful when the cops said he was the victim. He continued to be a dead beat till the end where he basically blamed her for her own murder...cont.
21.10.2025 06:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Watched American Murder: Gabby Petito. True crime doco.
The murder of Gabby Petito.
There is so much footage of Gabby that it was odd that Netflix felt the need to use AI to recreate her voice.
This was really text book domestic violence...cont.
It's hard to understand how his family can't see the overwhelming evidence against him. I mean what do they think happen to her? How do they think her body ended up washed up on the beach.
This one is definitely depressing.

Finished American Murder: Laci Peterson. True crime doco.
The murder of Laci Peterson.
This was done in the usual true crime format but is such a similar story to Shanann Watts. Why can't these a-holes just get divorced?...cont.
It was tough listening to her say such nice things about her drop kick husband.
It was amazing that the orange hat guy told the cops that the drop kick husband was suss and needed to be looked into from the first day.

Watched American Murder: The Family Next Door. True crime doco.
The murders of Shanann Watts and her two young daughters.
This was done in an interesting format with Shanann essentially telling her own story with videos of her talking about her life and a lot of police footage...cont.
