Same during my call- the wording I used was “non-explicit, legal, non-adult LGBT content”, and I got back the response that “yes, stripe is blocking this. We’re a private company, we make our own rules about it.” Was hung up on when I asked why.

More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy.

This seems kinda significant.

Stripe crossed a line now.

Call up whatever local LGBT organizations exist in your area, gay activist groups, gay bars, pride organizing committees, folks who schedule drag shows, queer church groups, everyone.

Also libraries and bookstores.

Show up in person to talk to any business using Stripe.

Once again, to all of my Canadian followers, this is INCREDIBLY ILLEGAL here. No private company can discriminate against LGBT content in any way. It is enshrined in federal law. Call and ask stripe why they're breaking Canadian hate crime laws. Call your local NDP or Liberal party rep and ask them.

Go to YouTube Studio and click on settings. Then scroll to Upload Defaults, click the second tab which is Advanced Settings. Scroll down to Automatic Dubbing and uncheck all boxes.

Viewers don't have the option to do this and it makes sure your audience doesn't have to toggle through the video languages

It's good you can opt out but it's just really unnecessary to add generated voices

Please remember to go into your YouTube settings and disable automatic dubbing! I use captions for accessibility plus no one asked for this. There was backlash then and now because it’s a garbage genAI feature that replicates your voice in other languages. Tutorial below ⬇️

Serious question btw. Will I still need verification to opt out of AI detection despite being a long-time user with Premium? It feels like I shouldn’t in that case.

I pay for YouTube Premium (purely because I was sick of seeing their shit ads on mobile) and have had a channel for well over a decade.

Will I STILL need ID verification?

If so, then fuck that.
