Besides (and this is my 'knowledge-on-something-no-one-cares-about' side coming out), Hollywood doesn't need to go through what the UK did with ITV in the late 90s-mid 2000s

Some other article said that a bid for WBD as a whole would have to be around $70 billion or so. Even for the Ellisons, that might be too steep and they might’ve tried offering a lot less. So the low valuation part tracks.

I can’t read the article because of a paywall, but one comment here says it’s because of “low valuation and strategic misalignment”. If that’s the case, then I can’t see this buyout ever happening. At least, not until after WB splits in two, but even then, chances are low.

Rare time where WBD has some common sense. Ellison got a little too happy with his daddy’s money the first few months anyway. Let’s hope this gives him a little post-merger clarity.
