Might be a good time to remind folks that snow this time of year isn't that crazy. in 2019 there was measurable snowfall in the first 5 days of Oct (in Gander), and in 2018 there was mesureable snow around the 18th of Sep. July and August are the only snow-free months in Gander's record. #nlwx

Not quite as dramatic a signal, but still the majority of the months below the 0 line. The summer flooding stands out pretty well, preceded by the several dry months that lead to the wildfires that same year.

On the longer scale, only 7 of the last 48 months have been measured above the normal precipitation line. All the rest are below to varying degrees. It's not surprise that water levels in streams, lakes, etc are down. #nlwx

With the 15 to 20 mm we got yesterday / this morning, that would push us just a bit closer to 200 mm, but we're still well below the average for the last 90 days. #nlwx

The woods in fall is my favourite place to be short of the woods after a big fluffy snow storm.
