Yep. People don't realize that Catholic schools were started in NYC BECAUSE of this Catholic hate. Children were being blatantly abused in the public school system because of their faith... My own family left Germany in the late 1800s because of the same sort of distrust of Catholics.

So much this. The FIGHTS I had in college (graduated '91) with supposed progressives over things like r@pe... so BASIC. Like "what was she wearing" BASIC...

The memorial was vile. Not even strong enough a word. Her performance was frightening... that people believe she is real in any way. She couldn't squeeze out a real emotion even when she literally squeezed her face. This is the stuff of films I watched in college of Hitler practicing for rallies.

I love them. And if you haven't yet watched it, the HBO documentary is really good. 😊

And of course he was big on saying empathy caused damage. I reserve my empathy for humans who are actually actively bringing love and acceptance into this world. I will not be gaslit into having any for a bigoted, hateful, whyte nationalist.

This person took glee in his hate and saw it as his mission to foment violence. He is, specifically, complicit in the violent radicalization of young men in this country.

He said the civil rights act of 1964 was a “huge mistake.” And his misogyny was off the charts. He also believed that shooting deaths were a fair price for 2nd amendment rights.

I’m not mourning someone who has helped to create this current world (and he did so for material profit). He didn’t have “different opinions.” He had HATE. He called for televised death penalties. He said stoning was God’s “perfect solution for being gay.” 🧵

I need to go back to reading him regularly…
