SO EXCITING

I had a very spiritual and emotional response when I discovered this album. Pretty sure I cried all the way through cause it blew my mind.

Just pulled my principal aside and I’m like “hey. If you get any notions of any certificated positions opening please please let me throw my hat in the basket”. And she was like YES.

I know it’s not DQ1&2 HD or whatever the next hot thing is but damn does it actually do new things and makes you think about the 90s and how new video games really were and how exciting each release could be. You don’t get that no more.

Someone brought in tres leche cake in the lounge so I cut myself a massive piece and am eating it at 10am.

I’m gonna do my best and stick with it cause I know my goal is to land a classroom position. It’s just gonna be a struggle.

These kids need me though. And that’s what keeps me coming back. Not the money (obviously)

Spoke with the union rep in the building about my paycheck and why it’s so low. It’s because I’m an hourly employee but paid like a salary worker. And it’s spread over 12 months. Instead of what I actually do work. I said no wonder why you all can’t keep people in this role.

The art style sure is something. It makes my brain go brrrrrrrr. They nail it here for retro vibes. And retro vibes that don’t feel generic.

I hope a physical version can be bought later down the road cause I’d love one for my shelf.

The undertale comparisons are very easy to make because it’s culture and it’s easy for someone to latch onto that visual but Stray Children stands out on its own. I’m on my way to the fifth main area of whatever and I just wanna keep playing. This is truly something special.

I spent a lot of my weekend with the game Stray Children. It’s got the sauce. The devs understood the assignment. I love that it’s a celebration of video games while also delivering something entirely different. It really could be a golden era ps1 game.

It got dark around 5pm today. 🥲

This game is sneaking into my goty list lol.

The music in Stray Children has been pretty great. A standout track for me has been the one where you can really hear that Suikoden flair

I had a lot of fun watching this one.

It’s birthday week (Thursday) and Zelda week (thursday) starting today.

Also I’m becoming quite obsessed with the art style of this game. It’s giving acid trip Super Mario rpg at times. Here for it.

Every save point in a rpg/jrpg should have a NPC that feeds you and tells you rumors. Just sayin.

Imagine having all the degrees: BA and two MA’s and just not being paid what you feel you are worth.

It also doesn’t help that social media is a constant flood of political stuff that keeps happening every single day. We aren’t built for that. At all. So I also stay away cause I know it affects me. Or is beginning to.

I hit an all time low after getting paid Friday cause it was a slap in the face. I don’t make enough.

Stress and depression has also kept me in a cycle of being sick since late August. I don’t recommend it.

All in all this is why I’m just not here much anymore. I don’t have the spoons to.
