i do the same but i take a super low dose of melatonin because it is actually enough. like i buy a 3mg and divide it into 5-6 pieces and take it with magnesium 30 mins before when i want to fall asleep

it calms the nervous system and reduces anxiety temporarily so you fall asleep faster (esp if you can’t sleep because of racing thoughts)
