Just received an unsolicited email about receiving medically supported weight loss treatment from a telecommunications company that has taken control of a portion of healthcare. I am not a customer of this telecommunications company. Everything about this is so grim it's unbearable.

There's a special irk in my heart for this & its converse messaging, "this is how you age when you're unproblematic," often said about wealthy celebs.

There are many creative, incisive, earned insults we can level against fascists & transphobes without leaning on a philosophy of Imperative Beauty.

... but my horoscope seemed so positive??

It's hard to live in a city that continually insists on making itself worse.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

The paywalls I keep hitting on all news outlets are giving me a real crawling-up-the-walls, cabin fever energy.

Is Wicked the most commercially successful work of fanfiction of all time?
