It was an absolutely hectic month. I was glad to join an initial meeting with the BorderLink team & GERP, to discuss further research collaboration. Immediately after that, I took part in this year’s conference of the ABRN, which was brilliantly organised by my colleagues at NTU Geography.

I am pleased to share that my review of David Pendery’s Transnational Taiwan: Crossing Borders into the 21st Century has now been published in the International Journal of Taiwan Studies.

🌉It's been a week coming back from InfraNorth’s ‘Beyond Infrastructure? (Un)built Environments in the Anthropocene’ conference in Vienna.
It was such a unique experience. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know so many fantastic anthropologists and geographers who work in the field of infrastructure.
BACS 2025 marks the begining of my academic journey at Bristol for AC-year 2025/26.
It's such a great and productive experience to have my first pre-org panel with Dr Song-Chuan Chen, Hsiao-Chen Lin and Prof. Niki Asforld.
Yesterday, I took part in the roundtable panel discussion on conducting PhD research on Taiwan, held as part of the 2025 SOAS Taiwan Studies Summer School at the @soastaiwanstudies.bsky.social.
It was a truly enriching (and FUN!) experience—many thanks to also my co-panelists - I learned so much!
Highlights of 2025 Annual Conference for the European Association of Taiwan Studies.
I presented (for the first time) my ongoing spin-off research on Kinmen's ghosts and marine debris, met unbelievably intelligent like-minded young scholars (define young!), and enjoyed the amazing Olomouc.
I will be joining in this year’s SOAS Taiwan Studies Summer School on 1 July for a roundtable on doing PhD research on Taiwan around the world. Can’t wait!

It was a fantastic week at SOAS CTS last week to have Chris Chan speak about his research on arts & politics of cross-strait archipelagic borderland.
This also marked my first-ever chairing for an academic public lecture, and I would like to thank Chris for bringing us such a fantastic talk!
