i originally created fish yknow, to be a physical design for the username. but i liked them too much to make them irrelevant so they became their own character

caught the hatters attention. they were useless for information, having no memory and all that, but they became allies due to their interesting circumstance. fish spent a decent amount of time alongside chess and the hatter [although ive yet to actually draw this era] before parting ways

chess started referring to them as fish due to the physical traits they developed after their death and immediate fall. fish is a specter, a race thats more common in wonderland than the overworld. this paired with the fact that resurrection is a rare [and in the overworld, illegal] practice -

YES!!! its been my favorite manga series for a while now, its so gutwrenching but i just love it so dearly 😭

theres no real set outfit style for wonderland since the place is chaotic and messy in nature, so their designs clashing IS kinda intentional but i do wanna work out ways to make things feel more.. coherent? idk even though theyre very different. threads like these will probably be pretty common..

as for chess i think i made her ref around october [?] it IS her current design technically but i might subject her to even more redesigning who knows... i want to draw and finalize the 4th slide outfit as an alternate design at some point.

the mad hatters design is still pretty new, i havent really settled on it [as i usually dont for my characters, i think chess has been redesigned at least 8 times since 2021😭] the hat is GOING to change bcs i dont like it at all.

the world building is still. very messy. its a MAJOR wip so like anything i ramble about could be changed in an instant ATM LOL.. most of my characters ive kept around for years and ive just recently started adjusting their lore to be more coherent [the story i had 4 them when i was 14 is atrocious]

chess is one of the twelve reapers of wonderland while the hatter is a descender [someone from the surface who fell down the rabbithole]

the hatter and chess formed a contract after her initial fall, before she went mad. no one knows how a mere descender was able to gain the loyalty of a reaper.

i THOUGHT about changing the name from wonderland as the referencing is a bit too heavy there idk,,, but i havent found anything else that rolls off the tongue as well. just calling it something like "the underworld" is too BORING!! :(
