We've done this through deliberately inclusive language, cohort-based workshops & mentorship. This work validates PS roles as integral to teaching & learning, fostering confidence, reflective practice & community. Hoping to have some research published in early 2026 detailing this work! #LTHEchat

So lovely to come back off leave and see that our Manchester Met colleagues have secured 2 NTFS and 1 CATE award. Supporting these colleagues from within @manmetuta.bsky.social (formally as TEAL until December 2024) has been a real privilege and they are worthy winners.

Received notificaiton that subject to some minor revisions a journal paper of mine had been accepted. The really great thing though is that both anonymous reviewers gave kind, measured and really constructive feedback about the paper - academic publications can be a kind process too!

We free living billions of wild animals to protect the animals we eat. We then destroy our environment to feed the animals we eat. We spend more time, money, and resources fattening the animals we eat, than we do feeding humans who are actually starving. The greatest irony is that after all the expense of raising these animals, we eat them, and they kill us... And instead of acknowledging this absurdity, we torture and kill millions of other animals trying to find a cure to the diseases caused by eating animals in the first place. When it comes to eating, humans are without question the most irrational animals on the planet.
Have you ever thought of it like this?

I was in a fab teaching obs this week where discussions were around the language of 'eco-friendly' marketing and it struck me how, in order to change anything in the world, we probably need to label the other side too. Eco-harmful and cruelty-full (that one's rubbish) labels needed. Just a thought.

A two-panel meme featuring a retro-style cartoon character reading a book.
1. The first panel shows a man in a yellow vest and white shirt reading a book titled **"Guinness Book of Excuses."** The text above reads, **"Non-Vegans:"**
2. The second panel is a close-up of the book, showing two contradictory statements:
- **#403:** "Farmed animals would go extinct if we stopped killing them."
- **#404:** "Farmed animals would overpopulate if we stopped killing them."
The meme humorously highlights the contradictory arguments often used to justify animal exploitation.

A cartoon showing a woman sitting on a chair, feeding her baby with a bottle while looking at her phone. The bottle is connected to a tube leading to a crying cow being milked by a machine. Beside the cow, her calf looks on, visibly distressed. The artwork is signed "Shadi Alashoush Caricature 29/5/2015."

Such lazy headline work here guys - you have a duty of care to report things accurately, this is not accurate reporting, it's inflammatory and plays into current generation culture wars.
