I was 8 in 2000. So I was also young, but the 2000s was my "childhood."

I now know how my teachers felt during Spirit Week seeing that one of the days was 80's Day. Y2K day is on Monday...

Maybe I should make a There Were Signs series for the autism I definitely do not have.

I grew up to be hairier than everyone in my family... I thought I was safe. I was wrong.

But I feel as if that's how my brain processes the years of dysphoria. Spending hours putting an experience into a comic is a way of processing the complex emotions that built up and were never addressed.

My comics are all about the little bits of dysphoria that I didn't realize were there as I was growing up. Sometimes, I feel like I should make comics to celebrate the euphoric moments, too.

sometimes I think about the microeconomy of commissions and get emotional if only for the fact there are many artists who are able to make a living based on the interest and good will of fellow working class folks who want to indulge in art. I hold onto that when I start to despair.
