Trump Isnβt Done Cutting Your Health Care
Now itβs low-income kids that Republicans are targeting.
@citizencohn.bsky.social does an amazing job explaining how harmful a policy choice it was that the Trump Administration ended continuous coverage for babies and toddlers.
A truly terrible decision for America's families.

The Big, Beautiful Bill assigns each American a billionaire who will live the
American dream for you. You can check in on your billionaire at intervals and see how he is using your money. Maybe he's building a 19th pool. Maybe he's buying himself some formerly public land! Maybe he's taking a Supreme Court justice on a dream vacation! Maybe he is reupholstering the Statue of Liberty to hide the poem.

Scott amendment eliminating 90% matching rate for #Medicaid expansion is being described as just about changing federal financing. It's effectively repeal! Amendment language is nearly identical to that in a section labeled "Repeal of Medicaid Expansion" in the 2017 House-passed ACA repeal bill!

Let's be clear: The Senate Republican bill would take away health coverage and food assistance from millions of people who need it β all to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.

The Senate version of the Medicaid work requirement in the "OBBB" doubles down and worsens a bad policy advanced by the House.
It also gives the Trump Administration enormous leverage to protect their Governor friends and punish their enemies.

Every major bill language release is happening under the cover of night. Tracks since the bill is so unpopular.
Are Senators really going to set millions of families backwards by taking health coverage & food asst away from them? Is that why they got into politics? Really?

The #Medicaid work requirements are almost the same as initial language except that the exemption for parents is now limited to parents of children age 13 and under (initial language was for children age 14 and under). States also now required to automate exemptions on "ex parte" basis (8/x)

Thread on just posted Senate Budget Committee reconciliation bill language. Despite Byrd Rule problems the draconian #Medicaid cuts are still largely the same as in initial language from 1.5 weeks ago and remain harsher than the House passed bill's cuts. (1/x): www.budget.senate.gov/imo/media/do...
