its also worth mentioning that if youre a fan of Lovecraftian horror, i dont think any other game ive played nails it like The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker

i absolutely recommend checking it out and the demo for the upcoming sequel 👀

i remember hearing about ideas for Dekker 2 over 6 years ago when i was still working with them. i was excited for it then and only more so now

i played the demo and it is so wonderfully weird just as the original was

Again, I cannot emphasize enough: do not go to the US even if you're privileged enough to have never been scared or worried of a border crossing in you're life. Do not go ESPECIALLY for something as optional & outrageously expensive as GDC.

UE5 games are already (mostly) not feasible on most handhelds, idk how any developer expects their game to do well when the specs of a Steamdeck or similar is the most that casual audiences are going to be able to afford

i think more developers need to consider that haphazardly developing on engines like UE5 instead of catering to the lowest specs possible is a choice that's going to age their games like milk over the next few years

The AI bubble RAM crisis is caused for non-existent problems by non-existent money for a non-existent infrastructure to meet non-existent demand to make non-existent business and will utterly destroy real business based on real demand and real infrastructure built with real money for real problems.

i think lots of people underestimate how badly these “AI” companies want people to be unable to afford computers. they view personal computing as a roadblock to their desire for complete end-to-end centralization. the fact that their tech is putting hardware out of reach is not just a happy accident
