The set of Home Alone 2 would’ve been easier.

Everywhere is within walking distance...

...it's just a matter of commitment.

But they might not have. International departure boards fuel imaginations!

They fuel mine anyway!

Maybe the European Sleeper staff are looking at your departure wishing they could work to London. πŸ˜€

I’m currently in a Premier Inn in Dresden. Reception and breakfast is on the top floor. Which is odd. Nice breakfast though.

Means a bit of lift acrobatics when checking out though.

On my way to Prague to meet friends. They’re flying out on Friday. I’m taking a slower, more interesting route.

You’re right, nothing is permanent…but it also applies to the rise of the right wing that’s arisen from this moment.

Never give up πŸ’ͺ

I’ll be through Peterborough later this afternoon driving the 13:22 Birmingham New Street to Stansted Airport as far as Cambridge.

Standard class is quite comfortable, they've done a decent job there. However, the large head cushion on the seats in first means I find it difficult to sit at a comfortable angle. Overall though, it's holding up well and remains one of the more comfortable intercity trains.

It’s been interesting to see your shift patterns, particularly when we sign the same piece of track between Ely and Peterborough!

My 2025 was meant to be momentous with a house move, but the solicitors couldn’t manage it in time, so will just have to start 2026 with it instead!

Happy New Year!

Putting politics aside, my concern is that it will look dated quite quickly, and potentially before the whole fleet is done. Large, bright statements and logos as a livery is a very 2020s design trend. Design trends can change very quickly.

Simple, non-cluttered liveries are the ones that last.

The people of Springbourne were all extras in a 70s sitcom it seems.

And I didn’t mean to press the button just then!

I drive through there quite a bit. I actually find it well sign posted and not too confusing. Although I usually see several others make last minute changes from M6 South to M6 North and vice versa when coming off the Expressway!
