My gift to myself this year was the Lego library kit (it was an add on only option from Lego store). BUT, it is nestled together with my drop box & card catalog & fellow Lego librarian. 🤩
P.S. you can buy the drop box and card catalog from: https://buff.ly/4h2qHPv

Finally had the brain space over break to figure out how to post to Insta, Threads, and BlueSky at the same time! (It's Buffer, folks. Which I'm sure many of you know about already. But, in case you didn't. You can post to 3 social accounts at once for FREE!

I wasn't on social media as much in 2024 for many reasons. Life changer for me, because juggling multiple social media accounts was one of the reasons I stopped posting as much - especially after I deleted Twitter.

Wishing you all a joyful start to the New Year!

I want to put positivity & kindness out into the world this year, so 1 of my goals for 2025 is to use my VOICE more to share accurate school library stories to highlight all of the amazing things school librarians do every single day.

I decided to do away with Wellness Wednesdays and do out relaxation activities any and all the time. Inspired by @andreatrudeau.bsky.social's Calming Corner, I added a rack to organize our various printouts students can take & use.

A few months ago a journalism student at UNL reached out to see if she could interview me for an article for her Capstone. Truth is, this article could be about school librarians anywhere, but I am honored to be a part of the story.

I've added BINGO caller to my school librarian resume. A short chat with an admin at the beginning of the year led to the purchase of this inexpensive kit & BINGO sessions held randomly during lunch. It's been pretty fun so far.

As we say good-bye to November, a look back at some of the month's displays.

Travel the world through books features books that take place in countries outside the US- a triangle on the corner shows country's name & flag. Also included, road trip books.

This display is up throughout 2nd quarter.

Native American Heritage Month -- includes books on Native history and fiction books written by Native authors.

I am meeting with the director of the local Indian Center to find even more titles to add to our collection.

November is Aviation History Month. We have an aviation focus program at my school & the teacher loans me old airplane parts to pair with books from our aviation section.

This year I decided our book turkey should morph into a book peacock. One of my library secretaries was an art major & did a great job talking an idea from basic to exquisite.
