I could say to myself I was going in the right direction and delude myself, even if I was making a bad decision - I'm capable of it. But I won't, because I face reality. Eren is a cautionary character. To me, I could easily end up like him (without the whole genocide thing). (4/4)

But before that, sometimes I felt like I didn't have control over my own life or emotions because who I was as a person. I knew things could and would go downhill and I hated myself for it.

Granted I didn't kill a bunch of grown men when I was 9 years-old, but I did go off on my own a lot and get myself into trouble even with good intentions. As I aged, I matured, and if something was in my way, I learned not to approach it with violence or direct confrontation.

When I first watched AoT, I saw a lot of myself in Eren. Like I immediately became attached to him, because I felt like I was looking at a mirror of myself. The stubbornness, resentment, all that.

We didn't look at the full picture, because he didn't.

With freedom comes responsibility. And AoT incorporates that literally into the narrative. (5/5)

To go outside the walls required destruction of the enemies out there. But he maintained that mindset. We, the audience, only saw his point of view. That's why there's so many people that say the Rumbling was the only option. (4/5)

He knows something's been kept from him, so he has that natural drive to make sure it happens. If something's in the way, he'll just destroy it and make a path. He's like "I decided I want this, so I'm gonna get it".

But his biggest flaw? He destroys, he doesn't adapt. (3/5)

With Armin, he wants to explore and see what he knows is out there.

With Eren, he wants to EXPERIENCE, to have the ability to choose whether or not he wants to go to the outside world. That's why he's resentful as a kid. (2/5)

This is what I like about Eren. It's his biggest strength but also his biggest flaw. He wants to see the world and has the right too, but he simultaneously doesn't see what's in front of him. He doesn't see progress, he says, "but I still don't have this" and lets that get to his head. (1/5)

Eren definitely got his hot-headed and passionate attitude from Carla. I think that since the Jaeger brothers took after their mothers more, they had the same traits growing up.

Dina was a bit more passive but worked behind the scenes, whereas Carla was a lot more outspoken.
