the problem with being into old media is there’s so many damn adaptations. 75 hates me and my sliver of free time personally.

yeah!!!! like, the problem CLEARLY only exists because there is a sizeable amount of people who value instant gratification (access to “content” from a language they don’t know) over human translators and art so companies can get away with shit like this. it’s infuriating!

the one (1) ray of light to this has been that yeah. i appreciate that people on bsky seem mostly to be pissed about it because it at least somewhat goes against the portion of their audience that must exist in order for this to happen who are fine or indifferent to it.

mostly just pissed though like right when i thought s7 couldn’t POSSIBLY go any lower in terms of shady bullshit they dug under the bar that was on the ground (yes i know that acquisitions don’t really work on a level basis but like. come on.)

on the one hand i’m pissed at the way that llm “tl”s are probably going to become the accepted standard at some point because looking at the rest of the tl industry things are…….bleak. but i guess on the other hand it means i have no excuse to not just read everything as raws LOL
