But... but they used The Economist Chart Style so it must be Very Serious.

History is littered with the corpses of the ones who didn't realize they'd be next.

It's honestly kind of weird and maybe just a tiny bit disturbing. Did all the truly unhinged gravitate toward the GOP?

What's that in the distance? Why it sounds like laughter and it's coming from the old Pelosi ranch at the edge of town.

Naw, too conflicted. Or fuck it, just John Cena that thing.

Will Waymo also teach drivers to abruptly stop in the intersection, back up slightly for some reason and then start again? Cause I just saw one do that yesterday for no discernible reason.

Susan Collins is very concerned about Susan Collins' campaign based on hatred, but she'll reluctantly vote for Susan Collins anyway.

That would dramatic and cool, but imagine trying to win the House with this kind of morale. That's the interesting story.

It was pretty much over for Johnson at this stage.

Eh, I doubt there was much cause and effect there. Our region's been waking up post-pandemic.

I've had multiple outsiders tell me, unprompted, that San Francisco is much nicer again! I mean, it seems about the same to me, but whatever makes ya feel good.

Nooooo, don't do it. Save yourselves.....

I don't know the answer to the question, but I'd break it into three categories:
- Machine Learning (fancy least squares fit)
- Large Language Models
- Companies seeking to use one are the other but don't actually develop or run them (e.g. the chat bot companies).

Can I both support RealPage getting bitch slapped and not expect it to make any difference?

God I love her forthrightness.
Media: "This is an interesting philosophical moment for MAGA with the retirement of MtG."
AOC: "She just qualified for her pension."

At a conference a couple years back I learned that ex-Enron people feel the company was treated unfairly.

Which if you think about it.... no, it was a massive fraud and everyone who ever worked there should feel some embarrassment at the very least.

State employees, basically. The state handles the reporting to the federal government.

In general, be careful with those AI answers. The more specific the subject, the weirder they get.

As for planning, if you're a more visual person, look at the prediction on a map. The area based calculation talked about there becomes more obvious if you see it.

On a weekend, during the day, probably not terrible.
Incidentally, there are BikeLink lockers just a block south of there.

See, the horse is small small to make the king look big. Honestly it ends up looking like a dwarf on a pony, but whatever.

In these use cases I like to think of AI as 'fancy least squares fit'. And yeah, pretty good for that.

Not going to build a financial empire on fancy least squares fit, is the thing.

I'm cheering for Kat here, but this a reminder that online isn't offline. Because on liberal (progressive, whatever, shutup) BluSky, she's the clear winner. In the real world they haven't really heard of her.

Used to have an office in a coworking space which also acted as a return address for an overseas fast fashion company.

They had this freight elevator full of clothes you could just root through if you wanted some. Too expensive to ship all that stuff back, so it got donated or thrown away.

I'm not surprised it can do classification. That seems like a good use case. Just... ya know... not that interesting.

It's such dictator bullshit.
Like if you want a real answer, you have to ask who the second most accomplished person is in a field.
