Sometimes You Fall paperback book at the beach. It’s a small town romance book with a couple on the cover. 💡Before Scottie walked back into his life Grady wasn’t interested in dating, hook-ups, or any sort of romantic entanglements. And as a retired pitcher with a World Series win and a respected business owner, his small town just didn’t get it. Tbh, both characters struggled with the things happening in their lives and I’m a little disappointed none of them sought out therapy. However, I loved the way their family, friends, and the town rallied around them. Many aspects of this book were a reminder of why living in a small town is beneficial for privileged white people with good hearts. I’d be really interested to see how this little town handles diversity though. Oh, and the smut was really fun. 🎙️ #hearmeout if it’s not duet narration and Samantha Brentmore is on the job then we should just let her do the whole thing. I’ve liked Sebastian’s work on many audiobooks, but Sam’s a freaking queen. And having two different voices for the same character is a confusing quagmire of sensory overload. I ended up downloading this puppy from KU and reading Grady’s chapters then listening to Samantha narrate the FMCs. Sebastian was okay, but I’m sick as a dog and struggled with the different voices for the same characters was beyond me. ✨Note✨ Interconnected standalone “You—you can’t kiss me again, Grady.” I scoff. “If you think I’m done kissing you, you’ve got another thing coming, babe.” “I’m serious.” I lean forward so she can see straight into my eyes when I say, “So am I.”
