My sister’s Saab 900 on another ADK high peaks trip a few years later. ADK Loj thru Avalanche Pass & ambitiously (she was a D1 soccer player, why not?) up the steep back of Adirondack Peak. Torrential rains + climbing waterfalls meant we turned back but had an excellent time.

Must’ve passed some tests since my boss (great guy) kept me on from temp holiday help. Went from stocking shelves at grocery store in college to loving what I was doing & the people. Glad I joined the outdoor club at my college too.

Borrowed my dad’s older 80s ice climbing plastic boots & immediately regretted the decision, should’ve gone w my regular boots. Could feel my feet getting blistered but kept trucking to stay with those guys. At least I had a good story at work when fitting boots for customers!
