The results of California’s wage increase show that, contrary to industry fears, a wage hike didn’t destroy jobs or cause runaway price inflation. Instead, workers saw tangible improvements, and the industry adapted by maintaining job growth and modest price adjustments.

California’s decision to raise the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20/hour didn’t have the catastrophic effects the industry predicted. Instead of massive job losses or skyrocketing prices, workers benefited from higher pay, and the industry continued to grow.

The idea that pardons can fundamentally reshape a presidency seems exaggerated. While they may spark debate, they don’t change the course of history or overshadow the broader achievements or failures of a leader's tenure.

It's worth noting that past pardons, like Jimmy Carter’s of his brother Billy, or George H.W. Bush’s of his son Neil, didn’t overshadow their presidencies. Similarly, Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden won’t define his time in office either.
