Personally, I am very much not a liberal. Unfortunately most of the liberals I know get queasy thinking about any direct action more confrontational than getting a permit for a gathering and then standing around with a witty sign on a Saturday afternoon every other month.

The thing is, liberalism is a politics of deciding what to do through a process of good-faith debate. Acting unilaterally is antithical to liberalism.

This really gets to the failures of liberalism. Liberalism requires good faith on both sides of any conflict, so much so that liberal politicians and institutions will invent it for their opponents who will use that assumption of good faith to destroy liberal politicians and institutions.

It would take you an afternoon of reading to understand how LLMs work. If you have some very basic Python skills, you could be custom-tuning models in a second afternoon. A few days more and you can train your own models from scratch. It really isn't all that hard to understand.

Didn't say everyone. Certainly not all of mine. It isn't hard to see how many of the oppressed immigrant communities of the early 20th century became reactionaries the minute they were white enough to get a subsized house in a racial covenant suburb whether or not they are your relatives.

Their job is what they do. I've worked with people who are bad at their jobs. They don't get anything done and get fired. Elected Democrats consistently get things done for their donors and don't get fired. That is consistent with them seeing their job as serving their donors and being good at it.
