YES. If I'm doing a historical recipe, I'll absolutely use the sources of pectin that you can get. But why on earth would I do that in a modern recipe? When that's not any guarantee of success, frankly? Cornstarch, flour, tapioca powder -- any of these are reasonable choices for a modern kitchen.

I am over pie recipes that need a thickener added suggesting that instead of using a reasonable ingredient for the purpose, you use an apple core for the pectin. Friends, I am not a tradwife, and I do not have an interest in "naturally sourced pectin." Get with the 21st century, people.

I like #2 (upper right) the best. It doesn't lose the roses in the color, and it has room for title text and such.

Finished blanket! The blue here seems more green in the photos than it does in person, though admittedly it is a bit on the teal spectrum.
