04.08.2025 16:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The pace of scientific publishing is absurdly slow. But sometimes that means you wake up on Monday morning to the acceptance of a paper that was submitted a year and a half ago that you mostly forgot about. We need more of this in life.
Three people in my lab applied for visas for a meeting in India. All with identical itineraries an&d identical letters of invitation. The only difference was citizenship: UK, Canada, US
Only the US was denied. We might have lost our privileged perch.

27.07.2025 19:13 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is horrible on so many levels. But as a matter of historical fact, in the case of Tokyo and Berlin, we were actually at war with those countries.
