Today is the 35th anniversary of the day the Americans with Disabilities Act went into effect. Yet, disabled Americans are still battling for full accessibility. EAPM is doing our small part to push for more access to news.

For news audiences Our initiatives, like the Style and Accessibility Guide and training sessions, aim to enhance news accessibility for the audience. We focus on individuals with disabilities who use alternative methods to access the web, as well as those with low literacy levels. For journalists Creating accessible news outlets, like the National Tab, fosters jobs for journalists with disabilities, chronic illnesses, veterans, and caregivers — individuals who frequently face underemployment.
