Wednesday is a kind of conduit to the south —a way for outsiders to see it as it really is, and southerners to connect to a wider world, and each other. "That's the goal that I'm realizing wasn't the goal going into it— but that's another one of my favorite things to hear," Hartzman says. "Especially from a lot of young queer people that felt misunderstood and unaccepted. I'm not straight, but I'm not out in any official way, but I think people can tell I'm not in the most accepted segment of society in the south. I hope our music communicates that it's actually a really beautiful, specific experience and an advantage to be this person in a place where you're being underestimated or ignored."

anyway go see One Battle After Another in a movie theater, I know we said this about Oppenheimer but I mean it for real with this one, there are cinematographic and audio mixing things that are essential to the experience and you won't get it at home

I get that the box office matters and we need it to do well so that more original IP films get made, but I hate spending any time on One Battle After Another that isn’t simply talking about how much the movie fucking bangs.
