I’m befuddled that Canadians are still going south as “snow birds”.

I’m beyond disappointed

Horrific on so many levels! This law will disproportionately affect vulnerable peoples. Social problems will never be solved through incarceration. I call bullshit on this reducing calls for service, and the medical system in MB is already strained. This needs to be challenged in court.

American governors are trying to convince Canadians to travel to their states. "We love you," the governors have said.

Here are some of the welcoming ambassadors Canadians will face travelling down there:

As would I! They should see what’s happening to indigenous communities and our irreplaceable wilderness.

I live in northern Manitoba. The devastation of these fires is beyond imagining. The wind gusts since yesterday are definitely not helping. Politicians talking of pipelines and private sector investments seems tone deaf when facing this climate disaster.

For years, the NDP has demanded that the federal government create the infrastructure necessary to deal with extreme weather events.
That's why I requested an emergency debate on wildfire evacuations, which will take place tomorrow evening.

Luckily mine is all grown, but it was a serious juggling act 10 years ago. It’s got to be ludicrous now!

I don’t recall voting to give a “strong mandate” to work with the US. Pretty sure it was about strengthening Canada and shoring up other trade partners. Disappointed doesn’t adequately describe how I feel.

I hope he’s lying yet again. I don’t want my country consorting with the US while the current administration reigns.

Interesting way to entice manufacturing back to the US.

It feels like there’s been a shift to adoration of politicians. It’s troubling.

I’m a skeptic as well. The talk of private investors is a big concern for me. People/environment over companies or private interests. And Canadian investment over external investment.

If you knew anything about crimes against women, you’d know it’s about power and control and lack of moral character of the offender.

C’mon Ontario!! Don’t let Ford continue to wreak havoc on your province!

Perhaps Canada could “cut wasteful spending” by having a government home for the PM and the leader of the opposition and just have one for the PM. I hope PP’s behaviour makes this a reality. Then this won’t ever be an issue again.

Also, with Premier Wab Kinews’ recent announcements of power to Nunavut, more shipping through Churchill, potential second port opening, etc, this is all very good news for an often forgotten and much deserving northern population!

Rebecca Chartrand is from northern Manitoba riding, just as a correction. I only know because I live in her riding. She was elected over NDPs Nikki Aston.

I’m 100% in agreement. I’m in my early 50s. In my youth, promised equality. Lived with delusion and have seen the slow slide backwards over the past ten years. Incels. Accepted algorithms programmed with biases. Conservative groups now attacking bodily autonomy. We need a seat at the table.

I feel like this push has to be supported, funded, and pushed by people interests outside of Canada. Also, double oil and gas and reduce climate restrictions? Alberta would end up a toxic dump in 20 years. Finally, if you aren’t Canadian, how can you benefit from Canadian passport & pension?
