100 organizations co-signed a letter to the Ministers responsible for early learning and child care, in advance of their meetings on January 30th. The joint letter calls on all levels of government to strengthen the $10aDay child care system.

CCN’s Educators Matter project will be holding virtual focus group discussions with the ELCC workforce on qualifications.

On Oct 23–24, the Educators Matter project hosted a National Symposium, uniting diverse voices across the ELCC sector to explore workforce solutions. A major highlight: a live conversation with Honourable Patty Hajdu on supporting and valuing Canada’s educators!

From Sept 22–24, the CCN Board of Directors and colleagues gathered in Ottawa for three days of strategy sessions focused on the future of the child care movement in Canada. Conversations involved implementation of the CWELCC system, and ensuring access to quality, affordable care for all families.

The Child Care Now Board of Directors convened a productive meeting with The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families. The discussion focused on building an accessible, and sustainable child care system in Canada — one that values ECEs and meets families' needs.
