BTW, it's kinda weird how the countries Trump targeted at the start of his administration as being candidates to be taken over by the US (Greenland, Canada, Panama), are also the same countries that Technocracy thought the US should take over. πŸ€”

Here's their 1940 map of the proposed 'Technate'.

The Technocratic Conspiracy: How tech tycoons plan to disrupt democracy and become the new rulers of the world - The Daily Grail On July 25, 2024, Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the presidential election in the United States, selected as his running mate 39-year-old senator JD Vance. It was in some ways a strange pick...

Here's the article I wrote on this last year that starts with technocracy and moves through to Curtis Yarvin/Peter Thiel/JD Vance and Balaji's Network State stuff.

So last year I wrote about Elon Musk's family link to Technocracy and how it could cross over into the whole Dark Enlightenment movement and Balaji Srinivasan's Network State ideology, and somehow I missed this reply tweet from Elon Musk to accelerationist 'Beff Jezos' that just says it out loud. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Dude, don't throw this at me, I'm still dealing with the fact that Russell Vought is 5 years younger than me (he's 49).

This is a straight-up SovCorps/Patchwork/Network State project…so little wonder Dark Enlightenment mainstays Vance and Andreessen are involved.

Tech Billionaires Wanted to Build a New California City. They're Settling for an Industrial Park, Instead When you can't build the city of your dreams, maybe just settle for a new industrial park.

'Network state'-inspired California Forever (backed by the likes of Marc Andreessen) have had to dial back their plans from a city to just an industrial park. For now, anyhow...

Politically speaking though, I do think there would be an advantage to Vance to be in power before the next election. He needs to prove to MAGA that he can continue the awfulness, racism etc (which I think he's more than capable of), after which I think he would be more accepted (by MAGA).

I was meaning more that Thiel and Yarvin enjoy the fact that *we* (non-MAGA) quickly write off conspiracies. Although I largely concur with you on this particular conspiracy, there's too much damage to be incurred to be seen as the one who took Trump out.

Passage of text that reads: "β€œHow dangerous is it that we are being linked?” Thiel wrote to Yarvin in 2014. β€œOne reassuring thought: one of our hidden advantages is that these people”—social-justice warriorsβ€”β€œwouldn’t believe in a conspiracy if it hit them over the head (this is perhaps the best measure of the decline of the Left). Linkages make them sound really crazy, and they kinda know it.” "

While I agree with a lot of what you've written here Gil, I would also point out, in regards to considering the possibility of conspiracy, this little passage from the New Yorker profile of Yarvin:

Talking about the 20 people chosen by Jubilee - a number of the same people were also on Sam Seder's appearance. Do they have a core list of fascist influencers that they pick from regularly?

A reminder of the weird fact that Bill Barr's father Donald was headmaster of the Dalton School in Manhattan that Epstein taught at during the 1970s.

And also that Donald Barr wrote a science fiction novel ('Space Relations') about a planet ruled by oligarchs who engage in child sex slavery. 😬

A reminder that the crypto lobby Fairshake was the biggest 'donor' in the 2024 election, and they targeted both Republicans *and* Democrats strategically.

Here's Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz taking glee in corrupting the election:

For no particular reason, I point people to this post I wrote (back in 2018!) about the endgame of QAnon conspiracies being the acceptance - or actually, celebration - of political violence and the arrest of opposition politicians.

To be fair, he seemed genuinely shocked that these people weren't just hard Trump supporters, but actually Nazis...it might be a bit more on Jubilee than Mehdi.

Cannot endorse this enough - I named this guy a few days ago, he's got a bit of an online following, but this is him trying to 'break through' to get a bigger audience. I'm not sure of the rationale of Jubilee giving him a platform to do so.

(But kudos to @mehdirhasan.bsky.social for his handling)

He goes by the online name 'Pinesap'. He's a Groyper (one of Nick Fuentes wanna-be Nazis), and a christofascist, and I think is trying to break through as an influencer (he's got a smallish following, but wants the big time). Probably better to ignore him.

Agreed, the charisma/connecting with the people is lacking. But money solves a lot of those problems, in terms of getting elected.

In terms of loyalty within, he doesn’t need to command loyalty…he just needs to *be* loyal to the tech bros and Heritage crew.
