Imagine if the charity sector, with market size about 60 times that of fishing, got anything like the proportionate coverage or interest from media & think tanks & politicians alike.

Though equally, as someone pointed out on here this am, the tattoing industry isn't far off the same size as fishing

This is key - charities deliver essential services on behalf of govt, but aren't being paid what it costs them to do it. This is an unsustainable way to commission services, and needs an urgent rethink. If not, services will fold.

Uprating contracts to cover the NICs rise would be a sensible start.
