Also, the game looks fun. Having the two gameplay styles of RE2 and RE4 side by side is a pretty brave move structure-wise and looks like it pays off.

It's now officially confirmed, after 3 days of speculations going viral on X, that this manga artist got ruled for doing horrendous things to his then underaged student. What's worse, it looks like the major publisher Shogakukan kept the secret for 6 years, even hired him under a different pen name as author for a new show. This mangaka Shoichi Yamamoto SA'ed a high schooler he taught part time, made her eat feces and smeared them on her face too. She was 15 when it started. He got arrested in 2020 and his comic "Daten Sakusen" stopped with little explanation. In the following year, his editor allegedly advised for the settlement, offering the victim 1.5M yen (roughly $9600) to stay quiet, which of course they failed. In 2022, the artist was brought back as Hajime Ichiro to write a story for their new series. As in "their", it's the same editor. The publisher made a statement only on their app "Manga One" so far, the exclusive platform for his works. But many already deleted the app, including myself.

I don’t know why I’m first hearing about this from a famous JAV actress turned videogame content creator, but this is the first I’m hearing of this really horrific story and SIX YEAR COVERUP by Shogakukan (CW: sexual abuse). I used to pay USD5 a month for access to an ftp site which hosted fansubs because the university network had most other protocols on lockdown (torrent, xdcc, etc).
We also had a bespoke p2p file-sharing app written by a CS grad that worked on the network, most commonly used to share Lost and Bleach

It's been grim! The pervading mood/ wisdom has been "once we get to the next general election the fascist party is going to sweep everything" so having any kind of positive is a relief.

I stopped short of The Final Shape and at this point I have zero desire to go back / catch up. I had fun with the game but now its firmly a past tense thing!
