portugal 😔 this happens in trains in specific, i don't usually have this problem on the metro or when i catch a bus (maybe because the train rides are longer so people are less likely to give up their seats, or perhaps it's because in buses and metros all seats are priority seats)

to be fair in buses and on the metro people are usually nice here! i don't know if it's because train rides are usually longer, but people are way meaner there 😔

i've been *checks notes* yelled at, asked to "just stay at home", ignored, laughed at, etc. and then when i don't ask for a seat because i don't want to be mistreated, people scream at me because "if you don't sit and you have an accident, all of us will have to exit the train because of you!"

i've been getting so anxious when i need to catch a train lately because every time i ask for a seat (as a disabled person who uses a cane) people not only refuse but are also extremely mean and rude for the rest of the ride. and yes, regardless of whether the seats are priority seats or not
