yeah, he is! i really hope this info reaches more people if he’s gonna be introduced in vol. 2… i was horrified when the racist jokes on this book first started and the story of this character is not the best to say the least….

the three danmei you should not buy:

-You've Got Mail: The Perils of Pigeon Post- author is homophobic and transphobic
-Kinnporsche- authors, among other things, sexually harassed an actor who was a minor at the time
-My Husband and I Sleep in a Coffin- extreme colorism directed at a side character

a warning for anyone considering buying this one: a dark-skinned character is introduced later in the novel who is the butt of constant colorist jokes including the MC GIFTING HIM SKIN WHITENING CREAM. the original fantl also had a lot of slurs which may or may not be in the official.

There are a lot of danmei novels you can purchase that do not feature colorist jokes, please consider supporting them instead, thank you!

— The brand “Darkie Toothpaste” is very problematic as they not only used a slur as the brand name, but they also featured blatant racist imagery both in their previous logo and marketing campaigns. There are quite a few articles on this you can easily find online.
