Fair. Though with transphobes still in the party, it doesn’t fill me with hope. I really hope that when Jeremy and Zarah’s party becomes established, some clear pro-trans policy is made. It’s frustrating, cause I feel like they’re the only real contenders against reform :/

This is true, but both of its founding members have been outspoken in their support of trans rights.

Stuff like this is why I’m in support of Zarah and Jeremy’s new party. How have the Green Party allowed people with views like this be actual candidates for leading the party. We need a left-wing party which unequivocally supports trans rights.

Ngl i didn’t enjoy this bracket of #DragRace, I know everyone’s been loving Mistress but to me she’s been punching down an awful lot. It’s mean and makes me feel uncomfortable.

Interesting, I didn’t know that. I’d be keen to know what kids watching now think in 15-20 years time. For what it’s worth I like that Doctor Who is political and unafraid to broach these topics.

In recent years I’ve found these comments often felt a bit ham-fisted and unnatural, and I find it labouring when they describe the messaging of the episode back to me. I take your point about media literacy and the worse state of the world, but I would like the occasional escape from that. 2/2

I think for me at least, it’s more of an issue with how smooth the dialogue is, maybe I’m looking back on rtd1 with the rose-tinted glasses or childhood, but I feel like the commentary on politics came naturally in conversation, or as quick quips from the doctor. 1/2

I had the exact same issue, it just didn’t make sense to me. It all felt entirely implausible.

I didn’t like this episode of #DoctorWho and I feel like I’m in the minority there. To me there was a real lack of “show don’t tell”, and the messaging felt blunt. I won’t harp on too much about my complaints but I’m looking forward to more of the Doctor and Belinda next week!

Great TV this morning, started with the #DragRace finale which I was really happy with and then #DoctorWho which was a super solid episode!
I doubt it’ll be true but it could have been really cool if Mrs Flood was one of the doctor who fans who was made real by the doctor remembering them.

Enjoyed #DoctorWho was a fun start to the series! Some big improvements in tone and character. I also think it looked and sounded beautifully!

The only complaint I have is that there’s still a good chunk of not so subtle commentary, I love the messages but they still feel forced a little.

New #doctorwho tomorrow! Hoping to watch it live on BBC One. Can’t wait to meet Belinda Chandra!!
