There, now its ultimate form...
Screenshot of Twitter post by Dia Lacina stating "this is the only correct game design" showing a graphic from the design document for Diablo of an isometric image of a town with a path to a Temple/Dungeon that goes far below the earth in many layers.

But photoshopped in is a sketch of a Panopticon with a road drawn to the town, and the word JAIL written over it.

Rewriting games like Shining in the Darkness and Fatal Labyrinth to start the protag in jail. Call 'em gritty reboots.

A blue lake labeled "lake for fishing) has been added near the town, where as flowing off of a lower level of the dungeon is a blood red lake labeled "evil lake (for advanced fishing).

Using this as an excuse to share this poster. As with a lot of bad toy-commercials-masquerading-as-a-cartoon, the promo art goes WAY too hard.

frankly i think we fucked up with computers the minute we didn't make "conversation pit computer sofa" a reality

This week we've got Sakiko self-flagellating, Mutsumi dissociating, and Nyamu popping up on Hot Ones, of all places. That's right, it's time for a Mujica Monday, as we explore the continuing trials of BanG Dream! Ave Mujica!

this was a crime against humanity, and the prosecution of that should fall to the ICC, imo. he should also be prosecuted federally for the myriad national security laws he violated. these crimes are as serious as it gets. we have to see justice

Beyond the Classism of Defeat A Left asleep at the wheel of a long-gone industrial proletarian dream.

"Rather than signifying class and prioritizing economy, anti-woke politics remains within a cultural register. It distracts from the very attack on the conditions of life and work it purports to prioritize, in effect...a message force multiplier for the right."

English should take a page from German and invent a new, custom word for that feeling you get when you’re listening to a YouTuber talk at length in a perfect American accent, and then they suddenly say something that makes it clear they’re not American.

“Oh, you’re from Idaho? Where’s that?” etc.

CITY #05 feels like the type of episode that will awaken the creative spirit of any young person who comes across it at the right time. Immediately lock for topic of discussion among people interested in animation, even decades from now

The Mothership Vortex: An Investigation Into the Firm at the Heart of the Democratic Spam Machine How a single consulting firm extracted $282 million from a network of spam PACs while delivering just $11 million to actual campaigns.

The annoying spam texts destroying the Democratic brand:

$678M raised through those spam tactics

$282M to one consulting firm: Mothership Strategies.

$11M to actual campaigns (1.6%)

The party isn’t just treating donors like marks—it’s being fleeced itself yet continues to back Mothership.

If I were a political party out of power, I would get on YouTube every day at the same time to run down the latest political news and alert the public what the party was doing about each issue.

it's really grim to realize that the majority of nazis were simply quietly integrated into things, and the consequences of this are felt today. anti-fascists won the battle, but fascists continued the war, and the war is not over yet

It is precisely the unsustainability and undesirability of AI that makes it so important for fascists to push thru. It is a perfect object for their attempt to make the world as they want it regardless of what anyone else wants. It's not about profit, it's about power

Sometimes when you're walking a dog and carrying a bag of their shit you think "if someone accosted me, I could throw this shit at them in self defense" and then you think "if I did that, I'd also probably instinctively shout HADOUKEN."

Once again an "issue" transphobes said was inherent to trans people is actually mostly just societal transphobia.

the problem with letting democrats backslide their support of trans rights whether it be trans in sports or using bathrooms is we’ve seen “compromise” in the UK labor party. they gave into “reasonable” TERF demands and it destroyed the labor party and all rights for trans people

Previously the “deal” these companies claimed to offer was a little bit of surveillance in exchange for using the service. This was always misleading if not an outright lie, but now the “deal” is ubiquitous surveillance for…?

Tesla hit with $243 million in damages after jury finds its Autopilot feature contributed to fatal crash The verdict follows a three-week trial that threw a spotlight on how Tesla and CEO Elon Musk have marketed their driver-assistance software.

A hugely important verdict.

The victims were pedestrians, so Tesla can't argue they knew/accepted Autopilot's risks.

People walking, biking, and inside other cars didn't consent to be Elon Musk's guinea pigs.

One thing that sucks about this is that obits are a great genealogical research tool, and even though they’re not always accurate they can be inaccurate in human, and thus potentially helpful, ways, rather than inaccurate in bullshit ways which will never be helpful.

I teared up like five separate times, most of which weren’t even the times I was expecting. Been many years since I’ve watched it, and it has only grown in power and meaning since then.
