i’ve noticed that people are getting considerably worse at spelling these past few years, especially with homophones.
the reason, as far as i’m convinced? auto-captions in online video. these algorithms are really bad at determining spelling from both audio and context
socialism is a mode of production defined by worker-owned means of production and the production of goods for their use value (as opposed to exchange value, which is what occurs under capitalism).
i am a socialist. i have attended socialist club meetings in college. i know it when i see it.
that’s not socialism

22.04.2025 21:26 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0a boulder of upper-cenozoic limestone from central florida. there seems to be two distinct layers; a bioturbated layer on top and a bedded layer below
closeup of what appears to be four (?) distinct fossilized bones, broken along the same fracture as the rock from when it was quarried. only the insides of the broken bone(?) are visible. they rest mostly within the bedded layer and just below the bioturbated layer. hand and pocketknife for scale.
found this at a park yesterday. i’ve only found vertebrate fossils a couple times before, and never 100% on my own, or even within rock. til now?
am i misidentifying some kind of limestone breccia or something or do y’all think these are bones? help pls i’m kinda bad at this (more info in alt text)
ayo wait the seminole had legal ownership of all that land in florida? i knew about the moultrie creek treaty but that’s even more than what was outlined there

at the cost of the enormous amount of energy it takes to generate a single one of those things
make it more efficient and integrate it into real artistic methods
a badly made edit has far more character than the best AI slop imo

some banksias remind me a lot of bennetitales (despite being entirely cenozoic and unrelated to them), and fan palms have a distinctly cretaceous vibe.
there’s also some new world mammals like the solenodon and monito del monte
people don’t seem to consider it, but santa claus serves the same socially functional purpose as a boogeyman, albeit a generous one instead of an exclusively punitive one
