I've neglected my Bluesky recently, but I pretty much ran over here yesterday knowing it would be the best platform for having my popcorn. ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿฟ

I had a phenomenally encouraging time at the Hands Off protest in Augusta, Maine today. Huge turnout! This was my sign. Let's keep this up, America!

Putting the finishing touches on 'Prey.' I *never* use glue on a fiber art piece except, well, when it's the best way to affix some sea glass. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Not a ton of progress on this one today because I had other stuff I had to get done, but I did go through my stash to see what else might go into it.

I'd love to see your yarns! I do a lot of hand dyeing of wool yarn and fabric, and sometimes locks and roving, however I have not yet learned to spin or weave.

I found this TapRoot Fibre Lab yarn in Nova Scotia last week and knew immediately it was right for my fierce woman in "Don't Play Small." Fiery wool in the background is "Dragon's Breath" dyed by Shane (the Dye Guy) at Encompassing Designs Rug Hooking Studio in Mahone Bay, NS. Buy Canadian! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Today's project is putting together kits for an upcoming beginner workshop. I don't often teach with kits anymore, favoring student deisgned and color planned pieces, but for specific venues and circumstances it makes sense. There's no single way to structure a beginner experience.

Working on a Substack post about my weekend in Quebec. I have family on both sides of what used to be a friendly border. The destruction of this international friendship by fascist pigs in America is obscene. No matter where this ends up, I will side with Canada.

I see your point, but a strike in the US would stop a lot of essential services and some production. If you think of people whose work you interact with every day - in all of the stores you might visit, people who work on farms, restaurants, all of that - there'd be disruption if they stopped.

I'll bring this idea (again - because I think so many of us want this) to some local organizing groups I'm attached to and see if we can come up with anything. I hate to admit that humans need charismatic leaders to show up truly en masse, but yeah, we do.

I've been saying this for a while. We have to scale UP with some centralized organizing. Who can be this kind of leader?
