Still not a reason to mistreat anyone. You're still punching sideways more or less, I have better accomodation (when places actually follow the ADA which many don't) but I also can't afford dental work and have to pay for some Rxs out of pocket and it's EXPENSIVE. Balances out, we all got it bad.

I've also heard that Canada and the EU are absolutely garbage when it comes to disabled rights and accessbility. Apparently in those areas you don't even have to offer special disabled seating, which is insane to me. Legit made me kinda wanna stay put, in some ways I guess I do have it better lol

Good point, and I think that boils down to marginalized people thinking they're punching up when they're really just punching sideways. Having an enemy that you can mistreat without guilt feels good when you've been that person for everyone around you forever, but you gotta try to not fall for it.

It's not dissimilar to the so-called leftist ppl here in the US who make gross comments about "Red States" getting what's coming to them when they're facing some sort of disaster like the issues w/ power & frost in TX a few yrs back. As if marginalized ppl just don't live in the South.

Or you could try to impech him. Since you know as well as we all do that a resolution means nothing and apparently no court will hold him accountable.

Innocent people are dying, you could at least try to actually do something about it, it doesn't matter if it doesn't work, it matters that you TRY.

Solidarity is the only thing that will save us. We aren't enemies. Our governments do not speak for us or represent us and they never really have. I'm never going to stop believing that or offering citizens of countries kindness and grace, because oir governments are all very much the same.

Because again, the only people doing this are those that do, 100% absolutely have it better than the average American. They're often the same types who joke about our kids dying in school shootings. I'm not talking about latin americans, they have a right to behave this way, but they never do.

But anyway my point is be kind to people for the love of god class solidarity is the only thing that will save us and we can fight together. People just have to stop being assholes and start working for change. Being a dick to people who legit do have it worse than them is a waste and indefensible.

Europe routinely lets boats full of immigrants sink, killing almost everyone on board and I never see the Europeans who lecture me do anything to change that either. Most pretend the EU is a bastion of free movement and just governence but, but that's only if you're white. If I'm gulty they are too.

Also again, Canada still bans people who set foot in America from applying for asylum, so all the people getting deported and losing their asylum cases unfairly cannot apply there. If you're Canadian instead of lecturing us maybe petition your gov to change those rules. That's useful.

It's as cruel as it is unhelpful. They could be actually helping people but instead they waste their time writing stupid letters lecturing us about how we clearly don't care (???) and claiming to be the real victims while doing nothing productive or helpful. That's really what I hate.

We're getting killed, but people who do not have to fear that same violence constantly state the only worth Americans have is as cannon fodder. I don't care who it's directed at, that's disgusting, and we do risk our lives! Every person who tails ICE knows they might die. Maybe donate to them?

I have to worry about my future kid dying in a school shooting. I could get killed for being a pregnant trans masc, and accessing natal healthcare could be impossible due to transphobia and I cannot fucking leave no matter how much I desperately want to. The people being cruel are punching down.

Contrary to what people abroad might think, living here sucks! We have it better than a lot of places but we don't have it better than a white middle class European in a country with universal healthcare and a decent gov that'd never ever allow someone like me to live there because I'm a "burden".

And then use that victimhood to actively punch down on people who again, absolutely have it better than the average American. It is not punching down when it's a white european cishetperisex abled man and it almost always is!!

I can't flee a country that wants me dead and is actively trying to outlaw my existence(trans) because I'm disabled. No country makes disabled people immigrating easy, so sorry, but I find it extremely distasteful when people who are 100% better off than I get on a high horse and claim victimhood.

No person who sets foot in USAmerica can apply for asylum in Canada, bcs America is designated a "safe country". Maybe petition your gov to remove that regulation rather than spending all your time hating Americans. Disabled people also cannot immigrate anywhere, don't see anyone trying to fix that.

So personally I can't take this on the chin. It's cruel and vindictive behavior on the part of people who have no right to claim this kind victimhood that obscures who actually needs help. Plus they could like, actually be helping those people of color? Dunking on Americans is a waste of time.

I mean, I've never seen a single poor or non-white or otherwise marginalized Canadian or European act like this either! It's exclusively non-marginalized middle class white people! Who do, in fact, have it better than I do, because I'm disabled and queer and poor. Being American doesn't change that.

And just to drive it home, the people being cruel like this are all 100% white middle class Europeans and Canadians, I check. I've never in my entire life seen a single person from Latin America talk about Americans that way. Bad Bunny has every reason to hate us and his whole show was about unity.

So that claim of victimhood they aren't entitled to is disrespectful to all the poc being brutalized here and in Latin America. I don't think any white middle class Canadian or European has suffered in a way that justifies this cruel and obsessive desire to brutalize people who are already hurting.

There are Canadians suffering bcs of our government, I know them, and they also never fucking act like this. Even the ones I would give a pass to because I know it's just friendly banter coming from them. The fact that it's only very specific people acting this way is more than worth pointing out.

Literally had a Canadian who was dunking on America argue that Canada doesn't force MAID on disabled Canadians the way it *verifiably* does and that there aren't mass graves behind old boarding schools used to kidnap and abuse and "reprogram" Indigenous children. Both of those are easy to check.
