Some people center their self inside themselves, they are their own Axis Mundi. But my selves are always outside, dancing at the first Lagrange point between me and whomever I’m thinking about. When I think about myself, I’m suddenly at L2, seeing my own silhouette.

I think I would be frustrated by a cosmic/eldritch/chthonian framing for political trouble. Those things being so petty feels out of scale. Superhero setting have some traction here, and historical precedent.

I have trouble when superheroes and horror overlap (The Boys), but either on their own is good. I play what a DM/ST wants to run!
If Mage, could see a scenario where the Technocracy is fighting a battle to keep reality together in the face of an administration inimical to them.

Pet peeve: in fiction, when the moon is only ever up at night. Moonrise is at NOON today.

Why? I barely notice there are characters, which might be a quirk peculiar to me, but I barely notice them. I guess if I were using stories I might see them more?

Kinda? It was less about whether my posts were accessible by meta-itself than that I could choose upon which groups of my friends I inflicted my whinging.

Even while one was sitting on me and needing to just burrow into me, I was thinking about how to divert harm from them. My OCD tells me that I will end up hurting them, or failing to prevent harm, but I feel so powerless to prevent what’s coming.

I am scared for the people I care about. I was sitting on the couch today with kids I adore, thinking, ”please let what is coming pass them by.” I know they are only my para-children, and I don’t even get to see them weekly anymore, but the sense of parenthood I feel is there nonetheless.

Like having a shoulder dislocated, where there is fear of more damage, and you are anticipating the pain to come, but numb at the moment. Where you know that even when you fix it, the bruising and swelling are going to take a long time to heal. And even doing the PT might not prevent it again.

It feels like not being able to take my hand off of a hot surface, but it’s my brain, not my hand. Like being dragged under a car.

Mit sticks to fruits and nuts. In a world where ”Speak to Plants” and ”Speak to Animals” exist, he’s already anxious about the ethics of eating the fertilized ova of plants, let alone living, thinking, communicating beings.
