Not the main thing right now, but I don't think teams should be going to play a World Cup in a country whose fascist government is currently murdering its own citizens in broad daylight and lying about it. Russia and Qatar were bad but at least weren't ongoing worsening situations were wading into.

He remembered the audience β€œgoing mad” as they performed, even though he had to stop the show for a moment because β€œthere was one kid behind the barricades throwing coins at me.” As he waited to restart the performance, Mustaine said, β€œa song I had heard by Paul McCartney popped into my mind, and I thought, β€˜If it’s good enough for Sir Paul, it’s good enough for me.’ I walked up to the microphone and said, β€˜Give Ireland back to the Irish. This one is for the Cause.’”

Megadeth began playing the Sex Pistols classic β€œAnarchy in the U.K.,” with Mustaine unaware that having mentioned "the Cause" and singing about the United Kingdom – even though the lyrics were changed to refer to Antrim in Northern Ireland – would be interpreted as a political statement.

As Megadeth drop their final album today (a favourite band of mine, ever since I was a teen), it would be remiss of me not to look back on their real-life Spinal Tap moment at a gig in Antrim in 1988

I remember writing in my review for Sinners that it is indebted to the works of John Carpenter and Wes Craven. Not long after release, Ryan Coogler thanked the fans and thanked Carpenter and Craven for influencing him. It's so rewarding when horror geeks get their day in the sun.

Don't know what RTΓ‰ has to gain by giving this "story" air time. It isn't news, it's purely for the sake of stirring engagement and getting people arguing. That kind of approach worked wonders for the States/UK's societal cohesion in the 2010s, if we recall πŸ₯Έ

Exceptional Buckley and Mescal performances elevate Hamnet to Oscar greatness Irish stars Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal help Hamnet stand out as not just another literary adaptation and turn it into Oscar-tipped greatness

While I'm personally a Renate Reinsve for Best Actress shooter, I can't deny that Jessie Buckley is exceptional in Hamnet and is a lock to win the Oscar. Hamnet also confirms Paul Mescal is better at dramas like this than whatever Gladiator 2 was. #Speirgorm
