If you're good at what you do, people just appreciate you.

I stopped working Fridays about four years ago, and it's made a world of difference to my mental health.

Straight up, why are we even catering to men? As a man, I assure you I am catered to enough. We don't need the literary world shifting on its access to somehow meet the needs of an imagined 'average male reader.' Tell YOUR stories to WHOEVER will listen!

100 Films Directed By Women A list of 100 films compiled on Letterboxd, including 35 Shots of Rum (2008), Aftersun (2022), Alpha (2025), American Honey (2016) and American Psycho (2000).

It’s women’s history month; here are my 100 favourite films directed by women. Most prominent directors: Claire Denis, Lynne Ramsey & Kelly Reichardt. Celine Sciamma, Kathryn Bigelow, Julia Ducournau, Andrea Arnold and Joanna Hogg have three entries each. Some glorious work here. Cinema!

Just when you thought our government couldn't get more racist, it reveals an entirely new level of bigotry.

In no way do I think anyone should buy a Vinfast. That's been my position since day one.

Conterpoint: after driving nothing but crossovers for the last two months, I picked up an Elantra yesterday and it is SO MUCH BETTER TO DRIVE in nearly every conceivable way. It's so easy to forget what driving can be like when we're bombarded with nothing but crossovers and SUVs.

a contender for my favorite behind-the-scenes photo: The Hunt for Red October crew built their submarine set(s) on top of a hydraulic gimbal, 45 ft above the stage floor, capable of tilting 45 degrees to mimic a sub's movements - Sean Connery said it made him seasick. even the gauges inside worked.

I used to have dreams where I'd be looking out the window of our family home, and, in the distance, a mushroom cloud billowed up into the sky. I was probably 7 or 8 years old.

Benjamin’s Friday Link Round-Up #12 Last week’s travel means a backlog of cool stories to go through today. Here’s an extended look at what’s caught my eye on the web over the past little while. How far back in time…

Still working to build a way to share cool web stories outside the context of social media with my latest Friday Link Round-Up.
