Guilty verdict for US father of teenage school shooter Prosecutors say Colin Gray, 55, could have prevented his son from killing four people at a high school in Georgia in 2024.

Somehow not surprised to read that this is only the third time that a US school shooter's parent has been held criminally responsible for their kid's actions.

Bad Times at the El Royale incomplete mini-review:

Pros - a nice twisty-turny neo-noir plot (that you kind of have to take with a pinch of salt), if you're into that; a great cast.

Cons - this is a fuggin looooong-ass film. I'll have to finish it tomorrow (hence the incompleteness of this review).

Alan Shatter is a strident pro-Israel politician (using the most basic/non-contentious description of his position) and this position has caused him to say some silly things about Israel's critics. Bridget Laffan is a gobshite who shills for weapons manufacturing firms on the side.

Where Bridget differs from the likes of Ed Walsh is that if you questioned Ed about taxpayer money going missing, he'd counter by gurning in your face and demanding to know how much wealth you've personally created. Bridget tries to soothe you with bullshit about how "this was all just fields once."

Bridget Laffan is a dose, but that's hardly out of line with the flatulent, reactionary moneysuckles that have occupied the top positions in UL since its foundation. None of our Chancellors, Presidents etc. have exactly covered themselves in glory.
