Not sure he has any power left on the contemporary right, but hearing “defund ICE” and “defund DHS” from the lips of Bill Kristol is wild

Natalie looks familiar to me. Do I know her?
One of my aunts still has Rachel’s hair.
Anyone know if Natalie or Rachel are still kicking around Spokane?
I’d love to talk to them at length about KEZE Rock 106. I was partial to KZZU the Zoo, myself, but respect.

Oh lord. Better for a DM and coffee probably.

Since starting @rangemedia.co, we’ve had two twenty-something colleagues able to buy homes.
I don’t know for sure, but I bet those numbers for would rival all other Spokane newsrooms combined since 2020.
Cooperatives reverse inequality. Period
Next on the film pod I've never mentioned here before: middle-aged Spokie beer-leaguers joined @benjiwade.bsky.social and I to talk Eephus & the joy of gathering to play a game you love, even when the field's gonna be bulldozed.

I just saw a different survey that broke housing down by units built, and by that measure, cities like Boise are still way ahead of us, but they aren’t on this list.
That suggests we might be building smarter, not harder (that 12% drop is the 6th biggest rent decline in the US):
It's so glaringly obvious just talking to people what they're looking for from elected leaders right now, but the stats back it up, too. Kitchen table issues are galvanizing, across difference.

Sounds like there'll be an arraignment today at the federal courthouse.
Jeffry Finer, an attorney who was in the room with Jac Archer, said the charges are not as severe as they might have been.
But it DOES sound like two people arrested might be redirected into immigration custody. Updates tk
Organizers like Forral told me they thought federal charges were a possibility, but the arrest of Jac Archer — who was not arrested on June 11 — was truly surprising.
It's also a potential escalation in how federal authorities are retaliating against organizers engaging in civil disobedience.

Probably cooler than I am.
The quote’s accurate, though, so you be the judge.
Agents of the state hiding themselves is something no one in a free society should tolerate.
These people are authorized by the state to do violence. They take public paychecks.
We gotta demand public scrutiny.

I personally think the open-source intelligence gathering online sleuths do is a net good. When it's all living publicly online tho, we gotta be careful how quickly we draw conclusions
Not much more to say except that: If you see people speculating — wether the speculation is that the shooter was trans or that they were a nazi — those people aren't doing journalism.

Almost like it’s a system designed to only truly benefit the already wealthy plus the smallest few newcomers possible to keep the idea of American prosperity alive and freshen the ol’ gene pool.
And of course we needed immigrants for the human wave of settler colonialism, but that was a while ago.
So the cuts would speed the precarity, but if “upper income seniors” are one shock away from poverty, then there’s gotta be something structurally wrong with the system, right?
17.06.2025 10:44 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0So we’re saying the post-war prosperity didn’t even last a full generation beyond the one that created it.
Do I have that right?
