Our terrible politicians are byproduct of mediocre media. Hung up on clickbait & narrative.
Useless. They follow the pack. They don't educate or report facts.
So pols are following the media bait.
We need strong conviction pols who lead & educate. Journos who hold them to account with facts

We need better means to hold politicians to account between elections. Starmer is ignoring the public view.

Put another way. If lab voters each had one vote, a lib dem voter only had 1/2 a vote and green voters only had 1/20th of a vote (approx).
How is that one person one vote?
How is that democracy?

In case you missed it ...
Here are the average number of votes the different parties needed to win 1 seat under our First Past The Post system in 2024. Labour needed 23k. Some other parties needed 20-30 times as many! Under a proportional representation system, each party would need about the same.

That is like thanking your abuser for not hitting you as hard.
What is needed is exit Brexit & that to be policy. This must keep Brexit to pacify the bigoted ignorant minority is insane.

Yes but what about our keep Brexit government?
They know it's wrong for UK, but there electoral strategy more important than doing what's right.

Brexit hasn't been betrayed.

The British people have not been betrayed.

The betrayal was Brexit.

Once that is the established narrative, we can all go forward together.

@mollyjongfast.bsky.social Your guest discussing tourism down would be same under Harris is wrong. There's an active boycott especially by Canada who are a big part of US tourism.

Europe is fragile. Europeans are not ready for a major war. Most Europeans do not realize that the battle for Europe is already underway. Most Europeans do not understand the danger looming over them.

Russia wants #Europe. Russia is ready for a major war and ready to kill.

So Sky news reports that the UK US trade deal announced today consists of "no physical UK-US trade document" that will be signed.
Trade deal is not a protected term. It really could be anything somehow related to trade. But I did not expect it to be invisible.

"All the polling shows that the British people think that an improved trade deal with the EU is more important than a US trade deal."

Robert Peston presses the Prime Minister on exactly what our polling has found - three times as many Brits want to prioritise UK-EU trade over a deal with Trump.

There's no US trade deal.

This is not an argument about semantics or about whether it qualifies as a "deal".

It's more fundamental than that: yesterday was a lie.

All that has been agreed is a non-legally binding framework for discussions towards a possible future deal.

UK must 'do everything' to rebuild trade with EU, says Bank boss.

Brexit is a deliberate act of sabotage inflicting self-imposed sanctions on Britain. It is costing the government around Β£50 billion a year. It is harming ordinary British people. It must be scrapped.
