Yep - I assume because of the large text extracts in the description giving a lot of false positives? It would be good to know if it's going to be preserved anywhere else, it's a unique resource.

Hi @textfiles.com - would love to know what's going on with that flickr account. Know it's not the first time it's been turned off. (And already asked @ukglo.bsky.social if she knows anything!)

Hey @archive.org - is your book illustration scans account permanently gone from Flickr? (makes the sad face of an artist in the middle of a project using the images)

It looks like the Internet Archive Book Images have all been removed from public view on Flickr. So sad - it was an extraordinary resource of free imagery. www.flickr.com/photos/inter...

Watching a rerun of Kate Bush at the BBC, and noticed that in the Wogan β€˜Experiment IV’ performance, there’s a BBC B and Cub monitor on the desk. Satisfying.

With my β€˜I spend a lot of time looking at representing bodies’ life drawing hat on: This is fascinating. It’s visually correct - it feels like watching gymnastics on TV, but it’s conceptually and structurally very wrong. You need both observation (seeing) and construction (knowing) working together.

I’m just converting mine to markdown using these instructions matthiasott.com/notes/conver... - you could perhaps then use a markdown to indesign or pdf script? It’s all a bit command line though.

Select all > copy > New Layer > add layer mask > Alt-click on Layer Mask > Paste > (Maybe fiddle with Levels a bit, or hit invert) > back to empty layer > paint bucket fill layer with correct colour.

Back in the 1940s, my Dad’s girlfriend’s parents went away for a fortnight, leaving the girlfriend at home to take care of the budgie. Dad stayed over. The parents returned to a budgie who talked in a strong local accent, yet never worked out who taught it.
