And Claude got it on the first try. It could have written a json formatted file that didn't work with myth-weavers at all. It could have failed to write a json. It could have written a json file that worked with myth-weavers, but in a completely non-useful way. Instead, filled most of it out.

But it is a pain in the butt to have to enter all the various details, particularly if the output is already done for you, just in the really old format.

Practically speaking, myth-weavers is a really easy way to show other people your rpg characters on the web. It does a lot of the calculations for you in a way that lets you show others that your character is done legally. And works with a whole wide range of systems.

So, using Claude, the free version, I gave it a dnd4e file(the xml) and a 4e json file from myth-weavers.com and asked it to write a json file for another character using its dnd4e file.

Yeah, I managed to take an old weird xml format and convert it into json in a way that a json reading app was able to read it on the first try.

Like there are so many potential points of failure and for it to be able to read it at all and get it about 90% right, was just amazing.
